We started with a real Doctors Website Design by responding to an online query for a quote. This particular Doctor has some special requirements that he needed his website to do. In reality a lot of what was requested is what all website needs as an absolute minimum, but other companies add as extras.

 Medical Website Design Basic’s

There are some things that need to go into every website.  You need to make sure they are included with your medical practice website design.

• SSL (https) : Yep you need to make sure your new website has the little green lock. Two reason SEO and also Patient privacy.
• Mobile friendly:  because many of your clients will be trying to browse your website and book via mobile phones.
• Easy to Use and simple to navigate.
• Search Engine Friendly and Google business optimised , so your patient can find you.
• Secure and hard to hack, you need to make sure nobody can get your patient details. Because nobody can guarantee an online Database can’t be hacked we don’t like to use wordpress.  We build a website that stores no details. Yes we can build in wordpress with a Database, it’s actually faster and cheaper. But a hand coded website is usually harder to Hack (not impossible).
• Speed the website needs to load fast if you already have a medical site that’s not performing check it here.

Meeting A Practice’s Actual Website Needs

For this particular medical website solution the Doctor wanted a home page , about us page and a contact page. For his booking he simply wanted to book by phone, particularly mobile phones by clicking on a link.

For the home page we also recommended the Doctor put information about qualifications etc so that mobile patients can get everything they need without to many clicks. For booking we trialled health engine and simplybook.me but the Doctor didn’t trust the security so just wanted phone and book. On a Side note this seems to be working fine.
